Work and Purpose

Every day, individuals, from all walks of life, from all backgrounds and life situations, arrive into their roles in the workplace in an effort to deliver upon what’s required of them.

In an effort to perform.

And as with any performance, mental and physical energy is a constant requirement.

When you feel over-extended and over-whelmed at work, you no longer see yourself at all. The role becomes the ‘role only’ and you can find yourself feeling completely isolated from the role you are in.  And when this way of working and living continues over long periods the only available outcome can be burn-out or break-down.

As with an engine that needs fuel to keep going, you need to know how to top up on the ‘fuel’ you need in order to keep going. To be well at work. To perform well at work.

This requires a degree of self awareness coupled with a commitment to self care.

In navigating issues you face as part of your work, whether it be working relationships, the work you do, the work you wish you could do, or simply no clear idea as to what it is you’d like to do, I can support you in learning new skills to move forward in an empowering way.

Here are some examples of how I can help:-

  • Help you understand what makes you effective as a person and how this relates to your work and others,
  • Be your challenging sounding board to enable clarity of thinking in making changes and decisions,
  • Provide you with a space to explore your purpose and how it connects to the work you do.

If you are facing difficulty with defining what your sense of work and purpose is for you at this time, I would love to hear from you.
